The cooperation in tourism started to bear fruit with a visit of Giresun Chamber of Commerce to Tabriz Chamber of Commerce about a year ago. After a group of 150 people came to Giresun on Nevruz holiday, Iranian tourism agencies visited the city as well to explore tourism potential.
A meeting was organized for 40 Iranian tourism agencies delegation. Mustafa Yilmaz who is a tourism operator opened the meeting in the Giresun Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall where Giresun tourism companies and Iranian tourism companies attended.
Mustafa Yilmaz who is Vice President of Giresun Tourism Management Association stated that Iranian agencies are attempting to bring the people in the region, and this also happened recently when Iranian tourists came to the city.
Yilmaz expressed that they want to develop and enlarge this friendship, said:
“Giresun is a safe city with warm people, nature and natural beauty. A truly hidden paradise, undisturbed springs of heaven, I say these from the heart. Also Giresun is a cheap city. Your city is a very virgin city for investment, which can be invested in any way. The necessary facilities will be provided for those who want to invest in tourism. “
Hasan Çakırmelikoğlu, Chairman of the Giresun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, pointed out that transformation of the tourism form sea to nature Eastern Black Sea became a center of attraction in recent years. He also added “In this regard, the prominence of the Eastern Black Sea highlands have made our city and the region attractive. The Green Road project, which combines the central and eastern Black Sea regional plateaus planned in this direction, is currently active.”
GTSO Chairman Çakırmelikoğlu expressed that the leap in Giresun tourism will continue in 2017 and finished by saying:
“The only viable island of the Black Sea, Giresun Island, is the center of attraction for mystical tourism. On the other hand, as of today, many plateau establishments are attracted to domestic and foreign nature lovers. In addition to Giresun’s historical and cultural infrastructure, it will be extremely happy to host Iranian tourists with the potential of an integrated transportation and facility. “
Giresun Deputy Mayor Hayati Tökez participated in the meeting and stated that they had a dream about the Gedikkaya Project. “We will start a new project in the summer. In addition, the city of Urumi in Iran is the sister city of Giresun”
Among the Iranian delegation, tour organizers Ibrahim Miragay and Sima Ardi introduced the tourism potentials of Iranian tourism agencies’ infrastructure.
Mr. Yakubi from the Islamic Republic of Iran, West Azerbaijan State Agency Union, pointed to the problems experienced at the customs gates and emphasized that Giresun wants to absolutely host his business life in Iran.
Iran’s Western Azarbaijan State Culture and Relief Mehdi Valizadeh stated that Giresun is a very beautiful place in terms of tourism with its nature and stated that the tourism potential of the city is also high.
Later, B2B meeting were held between Giresunlu tourism companies and the Iranian tourism agency delegation.
